2019 / Fabric-Cast Concrete

75.10 is a series of concrete sculptures investigating the aesthetic and the performative qualities of a sequence of material processes.

The process is set-up as a sequence of performative actions, that begins with a live concrete pour into a fabric formwork. Some aspects of this method are highly controlled, with others remaining intentionally loose, to encourage specificity and unpredictability in the form. During a second event, the cured fabric cast concrete form is revealed and transformed on site into a series of ring-shaped objects by cutting it into slices. The resulting sculptures can be shown as single artefacts or can be arranged in compositions.
